🚫 Virus - a computer virus is a type of computer program that, when executed, replicates itself by modifying other computer programs and inserting its own code. When this replication succeeds, the affected areas are then said to be "infected" with a computer virus
🚫 Worm - a computer worm is a type of malware that spreads copies of itself from computer to computer. A worm can replicate itself without any human interaction, and it does not need to attach itself to a software program in order to cause damage.
🚫 Trojan horse, or trojan, is any malware which misleads users of its true intent. The term is derived from the Ancient Greek story of the deceptive Trojan Horse that led to the fall of the city of Troy
🚫 Malicious bots are defined as self-propagating malware that infects its host and connects back to a central server(s). The server functions as a “command and control centre” for a botnet, or a network of compromised computers and similar devices.
🚫 Ransomware is malicious software that infects your computer and displays messages demanding a fee to be paid in order for your system to work again.
🚫 Spyware is unwanted software that infiltrates your computing device, stealing your internet usage data and sensitive information.
🚫 Rootkit are generally associated with malware – such as Trojans, worms, viruses – that conceal their existence and actions from users and other system processes.
